A Shoe Tale
Mister Lacey and miss Ribbon were a pair of red shiny shoes living in a boxful of dreams, on cloud-coated linens. One May day, a little girl found them sleeping next to each other, and she loved them so much that she took them out for an afternoon walk, sometimes tituppy, sometimes gingerly, on the sundressed alleys. Mister Lacey and miss Ribbon were cheerful, as they had never breathed such a crisp air before, and the chill of those spring days, after a good sturdy rain, was daintly tickling their soles, growing goosebumps on their skin.

   Washington this time of year was, really in lack of better words, numbed to everything in the outside world. Time seemed to slow down, as did crime, accidents and the such. He was staring, but he didn’t really care. He knew she hadn’t yet noticed or she didn’t mind. Laughter erupted the group of boys that surrounded the desk she was sitting cross legged on top of, Her bright smile keeping all the boys in an unnoticeable trance,  [h/l] [h/c] stuck to her face and was frizzy at the constant movement she made when speaking.
Jake had no idea why he always caught himself gazing at her, maybe it was the way her [e/c] eyes darted at every new detail she noticed, or how pretty she seemed to be under the unbrushed hair, plain t-shirt and unbuttoned flannel shirt pushed up above her elbows carelessly. Maybe it was just her in general that he found so magnificent. Part of him wished that he could be with the group of guys that were always loitering around, but he knew that they sucked up while near her to impress in hopes that they could get a date.

To make matters worse for the girl, the other members of The Midnight Crew had either vanished along with their cowardly leader, or refused to assist her for they wanted to see what she would accomplish.

I really love all the attention but mop hair boy is being a real snob. I can't help all the attention everyone is giving me. I'm just irresistable. Ok so maybe i should appologise, but that woudn' do any good so I best not. Anyway I saw him coming out of the weirdos office. I'm calling her a weirdo because she asked me to sign her underpants. I don't do autographs.
